The Deep Cleaning Checklist Every Las Vegas Home Needs

Desert dust gets into places a weekly tidy never reaches. Here is the room-by-room deep cleaning checklist our crews work through, and how often each task really needs doing.

There is a real difference between a home that is tidy and a home that is clean. A weekly tidy handles the surfaces you see. A deep clean handles everything underneath — the film on the range hood, the grit in the window tracks, the dust that has quietly settled on top of the door frames since the last time anyone looked up there.

In the Las Vegas Valley that gap opens faster than almost anywhere else. Fine desert dust rides in through every door, window and vent, and it does not simply sit on the floor waiting to be vacuumed. It bonds to kitchen grease, settles into grout lines and coats the inside of glass until the whole room looks dimmer than it should. Here is the checklist our crews actually run, and how often each part is worth doing.

Kitchen: where build-up hides in plain sight

The kitchen collects two problems at once — airborne dust and cooking grease — and together they form a sticky film that regular wiping just smears around. A proper deep clean means going inside and behind things, not only across them.

  • Inside the oven, including the racks and door glass
  • Range hood filter degreased and the hood housing wiped
  • Inside the refrigerator: shelves, drawers and door seals
  • Inside cabinets and drawers, including the toe kicks below them
  • Behind and underneath the fridge and stove where possible
  • Backsplash grout scrubbed and cabinet fronts degreased

Most kitchens need this twice a year. If you cook daily or fry often, make it quarterly — grease that sits too long stops releasing without heavy chemicals.

Bathrooms: scale is the real enemy here

Southern Nevada has notably hard water, and that mineral content leaves scale on every wet surface. Left alone it etches glass and dulls chrome permanently. Shower doors, faucet aerators, showerheads and the base of the toilet all need descaling, not just wiping. Grout should be scrubbed and, once it is genuinely clean, sealed — sealed grout stays clean far longer than bare grout ever will.

Living areas and bedrooms: work top to bottom

Order matters more than people expect. Ceiling fans, light fixtures and the tops of door frames come first, then window sills and tracks, then baseboards, and only then the floors. Clean in the other direction and you will be re-doing the floors twice. Vacuum under and behind furniture where you can move it, wash interior glass, and vacuum the tracks of every sliding door before wiping them.

How often is honest?

For most Las Vegas households, one thorough deep clean every six months plus regular weekly or bi-weekly visits keeps a home comfortably ahead of the dust. Homes with pets, allergies, small children or heavy cooking benefit from moving that to every three or four months. Homes that sit empty between visits — second homes and rentals — usually need a deep clean before each arrival rather than on a calendar.

If working through that list sounds like a lost weekend, that is fair — a full deep clean on an average home takes a trained two-person crew most of a day. Meza Cleaning Service LLC handles deep cleaning across North Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Henderson and the surrounding communities, with a written checklist and a free quote before anything starts.
